How does the ShowDown fish finder compare to vexilar etc?
I am looking at buying a well priced brand new showdown Fishfinder for icefishing but was just wondering if anyone nows how well they compare to other fishfinders/Flashers such as Vexilar and Mar’cum?

You really need a flasher-type FF for ice fishing.
I’ve taken my portable LC Humminbird on the ice and because it can’t update quick enough it works terribly for pinpointing depth and jigs. Liquid Crystal displayed FF’s just can’t update quick enough for Ice jigging!
(In my opinion),Your best bet is the Vexilar FL-8 ($300) with a Genz pak. You could spend more and get the Marcum or upgraded Vexilar FL-20 but unless your a hardcore Ice fisherman go with the FL-8.
