What would be a good inexpensive depth/fish finder?

I’m probably only going to use it one time to find a boat that sank in 15 to 20ft of murky water, so I don’t want to pay big $$ for it. I probably need one that shows the the lake bottom out a ways from the boat I’m in. Or does anyone know of another way to find a sunken boat? I only know where it is within about a quarter mile or so.

What you need is side scan sonar….which is apparently beyond your budget. However, might I suggest that you contact your local marine agency. DNR or game and fish. They often have this equipment on their boats. Perhaps they could narrow down your search area, on their regular patrols.
