Portable Fish Finder

What do you recommend for a good electronic fish finding device for ice fishermen ? What features do you like ?

I am looking at buying a well priced brand new showdown Fishfinder for icefishing but was just wondering if anyone nows how well they compare to other fishfinders/Flashers such as Vexilar and Mar’cum?

I have a fibreglass hull and I do not want to drill holes in the superstructure!

My fish finder seems to work except there are a lot of streaks on the display which make it hard to read to say the least. I cannot see how to take it apart to get at the connectors and clean them

I have a fishfinder and I understand the information is from the bottom of the boat but even when it shows fish I am not sure which side of the boat to fish from.

I’ve bought a 1990 bayliner 2655 and want a gps unit with depth finder…what is a good recommendation?

I’ve pushed the menu button and found many options but none seem to stop the constant beeping. It used to beep only when marking fish and now it can’t be stopped. Help!!

I got a new fish finder for my boat. I need to know if it is good to mount the sensor in the inside of the transome of boat or the outside of the boat. I really didn’t want to mount on the out side because I didn’t want to get it knocked off. Also I need to no if the sensor gets knocked off much? Thankyou every answer helps except for stupid ones.

I’ve seen some EAGLE brand fish finders that have a bunch of options for around 0 (fish finder + GPS). If you have any experience with this brand I’d love to know what you think of it.

I’m not much of a fisherman, yet. I’d like to learn and who knows maybe I’ll love it. But for now i just want to spend not too much money on equipment, rather just enough to get me going.
